We at Avid Learning believe that it is critical to keep the conversation on sustainability alive and engaging and in this respect, in April 2020 Avid Learning launched its much acclaimed ‘Sustainability Now’ series. A thematised and targeted series of discussions that aim to convert audiences into change makers, active catalysts and custodians of a greener tomorrow.

Through the series we aim to highlight the work of important leaders and feature insights of true change makers which includes artists, designers, chefs, architects, creative entrepreneurs, policymakers, environmentalists, urban planners, educators, scientists, social media influencers, philanthropists, scholars, and business leaders and shed some light on such issues and leverage our platform to educate and spread awareness by communicating through the arts.

We have so far presented around 50+ change makers and speakers and presented 60+ programs that covered topics such as Architecture and Urbanism, Emerging Trends in the Fashion Industry, Conscious Clothing, The Future of Food, Wildlife Conservation and Conscious Consumption, Sustainable Luxury, Arts, Tourism, and Technology of Greener Living in the context of sustainable practices and philosophies.

Adventures of the South Pole: A Film Screening and Art Workshop for Kids

On the southernmost tip of our planet lies a land covered with freezing ice, mammoth glaciers, chilling winds and peculiar flora and fauna. This untraversed continent of Antarctica may seem desolate, but is actually home to an unimaginable abundance of rare wildlife species. These polar animals are now under dire threat as the Antarctic peninsula is one of the most rapidly warming areas on earth!

To commemorate World Earth Day 2022, we present a special screening of The Last Continent, a documentary short film by Abhay MaskaraSonia Nazareth, that aims to educate children on the treasures of Antarctica and create awareness about the undeniable climate change that is affecting not only this icy desert but also our long-term survival. The film screening will be followed by an interactive art workshop on creating DIY icebergs conducted by Educator, Storyteller and Founder of Rachna’s Funclub, Rachna Narwekar.
